22 Observer states including the World Health Organisation plus 7 European countries (Albania, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russian Federation and Ukraine) and 14 non-European countries (Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Madagascar, Malaysia, Morocco, Senegal, Syria, Tunisia, United States of America).
Last observerships: Argentina and Moldova (2008), Republic of Belarus (2007), the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan (2006).
Enables the participation in the sessions of the Pheur Commission. Each member state is represented by a national delegation of not more than three members entitled to one vote. Each member state proposes national experts in each group of experts or working parties. On all technical matters delegations are casting a vote. For all non-technical decisions, the EU is voting in place of its member state's delegations. A member state shall take the necessary measures to ensure that the texts adopted and which will constitue the European Pharmacopoeia shall become the official standards applicable within its country.
